Mr. Papou’s Authentic Greek Olive Oil began when our grandfather was a small boy amongst the verdant orchards and vineyards of Poulitsa. His father was a farmer who instilled a tireless work ethic in him from a young age. He led by example, demonstrating the importance of respecting the land and his fellow man. His mother was a magnificent cook who instilled in him the joy and magic of creating meals using the fresh, high-quality ingredients they found in their very own backyard.
As our grandfather became a man, he carried these values forth. He took to the family trade of farming and dedicated himself to perfecting the olive oil recipe we bring you today. He became highly regarded throughout the Corinthian region for the caliber of his product and the integrity
of his business practices. From the multitude of olive cultivars used in Greece, he winnowed down to the Koroneiki olive, which he determined to be the most flavorful and nourishing.
The Koroneiki contains a high concentration of polyphenols, the organic compounds that imbue olives with their health properties. Koroneiki-based olive oil also has a longer shelf life and a distinctive, woody flavor that adds character to any dish.
To this day, Mr. Papou's Authentic Greek Olive Oil is harvested and pressed in the Corinthian region by local farmers. They have an impeccable taste for quality, and we trust you will notice the difference, as he did.
